the best seedlings get planted outdoors in the spring, grown under
shade cloth and carefully watched. |
The
first fall outdoors, seedlings take on good size and growth. At
this point I cull the weakest ones. |
After five to ten years of culling, hostas
are moved into the garden for further hybridizing or registering.
Only the best are kept. |
